Economic Growth of Dubai

Economic Growth of Dubai Is Dubai Playing It Right? Nowadays there doesnt seem to be an end to human needs. People aspire for prosperity prosperous life, a good job, a good house, to drive a well manufactured car, and even to have a huge Bank account!! These aims may be a little bit crashed because of the economic crisis that has recently hit the world. Many countries after this crisis tried to recover and rebuilt their economy and return to be stronger and face this crisis. Others couldnt do that as this economy crisis hit it very hard as this country resources are not good enough or rich enough to get over it. From the countries that were hit by this economic crisis is Dubai. Dubai is a very fast growing country economically, it is the meeting point between the East and the West, it links between western modern life and eastern hospitality. Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates UAE. There is nothing you cant find in Dubai from beautiful beaches and clear aqua blue seas to indoor activities, an underwater hotel and skyscrapers, there is never a shortage of things to do in Dubai. It has the biggest airport in the world, the largest man-made port in the world, the largest Mall in the world, the only 7 Stars Hotel in the World, the largest Skyscraper in the world and finally the largest Theme Park in the world which is about 3 times bigger in size than Disney World in Orlando !! as came in DubaiCondoProperty.com. The question is; is it a right way to become a leading economic country at this short time? People might think that it is not the best path for development; because there are some barriers. First, resources being under stress. Second, large amounts of loans leading to debts, and Third, people that might lose their jobs and companies that might shut down if the economy falls down. One of the reasons that support this point of view is that any developing country it should have enough resources for investment especially if we are talking about the UAE, many of these countries contain Oil resources except Dubai This city state is purely a business city wholly depending upon tourism and other business. Dubai World, attract world entrepreneurs that started spending more and more on building fine roads, and 7 Star Hotels. Prasadjain said in an article entitled Financial crisis in Dubai, reasons and effects. So Dubai is not an Oil Country and depend mainly on money that it earns from these investments especially tourism sector. But immediately after this economic crisis a rumor spread that after the Atlantis opening ( which cost about 1.5Bn Dollars ) the hotel was only charging 10 percent of the original price and has only about 26 percent occupancy as mentioned in Diversification Dubais Downfall by Helena Axelson Fisk. Also it was published that Dubai began to pron ounce a plan for building two more villages like Al Nakheel (Palm Island) which is a group of Islands on the shape of a Palm that cost about 110Bn Dollars before it was even completed! As published in BBC News website. Huge investments surely need massive amount of money, this condition is not available in Dubai, it tend to Borrow money from Banks all over the world, leading to debts then failure to repay. UAE faces up to $184 Billion total debt according to estimates by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, also the Bank said that Dubai only faces almost $50 billion of debt amortization in the next three years: $12 billion in 2010, $19 billion in 2011 and $18 billion in 2012as mentioned by Sebastian Tong in article entitled UAE faces up to $184 billion total debt: BofA-Merrill Lynch. Also there are many Banks that were hit because of Dubai inability to repay Banks were hit particularly hard on concerns over Dubais ability to pay back its debts as came on BBC News, some of these Banks are Barclays which was the biggest faller down by 8%, followed by Royal Bank of Scotland, which lost 7.8%. Dubai asked for a six-month delay on debt repayments it was due to repay $3.5Bn in December. Other reason that strengthens my position is that a fast economic growing country should have a strong market study and economic plan to preserve peoples jobs as when it falls down, people might lose their jobs and companies might shut down, thats what happened in Dubai when it was hit by economic crisis. Nowadays a lot of people were fired and lost their jobs because companies couldnt pay them. Lots of people have left my neighbor, an architect from the US, was fired and her whole company was shut down. A western journalist said as mentioned in BBC News. Other witness to these incidents A lot of our friends have lost jobs, particularly senior management in human resources and information technology, some have stayed here, but others have left, says Grace, in an article by Michael Buchanan. It reached that people leaving Dubai and parking their cars in the airport. On a recent walk around the car park at Dubai Airport, there were more than two dozens cars that looked completely aban doned by their owners. Some people wrote little messages on the layers of sand that have gathered on the vehicles. One says Gone 4 Ever, and another says He will return Inshallah This was mentioned by Michael Buchanan as well. Concerning losing jobs as well Buchanan mentioned that The competition for jobs is fierce now, whereas there would be two people for one job before, I think there is ten now. The opportunities arent there as much and the salaries arent there. Its just getting worse and worse! On the other hand, some people might disagree with this point of view and assure that Dubai will make it and survive peacefully from this economic trap as Abu Dhabi; Dubais Twin has just lent it $ 10Bn to repay her debts as mentioned by Margaret Coker in an article entitled Dubais Rescue Boosts Others. But it would be the same and the circle would not stop as its going to be a Series of Debts. Finally, Dubai should take step by step in her economical growth and not jumps, plus its not the top needs of citizens to have this luxurious fantasy life, by this amount of money Dubai might have done many important projects to help the 3rd World Countries, these amounts of money can be charged to many productions that might aid the needs of people all over the world. The 1960s :: American America History

The 1960s Mr. Basiuk is the person I chose for my interview. Rather than immigrating to Canada, Mr. Basiuk was born in Canada, Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1936. He was educated in high school to the north end of Winnipeg at St. John's Technical High School. He spent two years altogether in grade 10 and 11 then attended five years in the University Of Manitoba and graduated as an electrical engineer. Unfortunately, he was not able to find a job in this profession in this area, and therefore began his career as a teacher; and has been teaching for the last thirty years. Interview Who was in political power and how affective was he in accomplishing his goals? I wasn't really interested nor paid much attention to politics, therefore I cannot answer this question. What things did you want to see changed by the government? What sort of problems did the government face and how were they solved? I wanted to see the government have more concern for the poor people. Things such as Medicare, OHIP, and pension plans. The government faced many problems, one of the most toughest, I think, was the deep recession occurring in the 60's. What special events or figures were most significant to you? Name some of the social trends you took part in. Well, I didn't have any hero's or someone to look up to until later on in my 20's when someone invited me to Montreal to watch a folk singer called Pete Seager. From this time on, I became really dedicated and interested in music and this really influenced my life. I would occasionally go to that place. State the differences in fashion from the 60's and today. Which music group or band did you enjoy listening to? What types of dances did you enjoy? First of all, teenagers and especially woman would wear clothes with more colour and beads. Bellbottoms were in back at that time. There are certain people who wear lots of flowers and turned out to be called the flower power. This name was given because they believed that being "nice" to others would help change the country-so they gave many people flowers and asked them to be their friend. Restaurant Evaluation

Burger King Your Name Your School Restaurant Evaluation Walking into a fast food joint, one expects to be met by a sweet aroma of the delicious foods that are quite appealing. Considering they are supposed to serve customers as fast as they can while at the same time maintaining quality service. Upon entering a fast food restaurant, one would expect to have a view of the whole place in a glance, with counters just around the bend for customers to make their purchase. One would also expect to find people around helping customers make fast purchases as well as clearing tables for people to eat.Without such quality, a fast food restaurant cannot be up to par. Burger King is the fast food restaurant I visited a few days ago, and fortunately did not disappoint my expectations; rather, I was surprised by their smooth, fast service and tasty foods as well as the restaurant itself. Once I entered the restaurant, I was met by the aroma of grilling hamburgers and other foods, which is not usua lly the norm in other fast food restaurants, where food is mostly micro waved. The interior of the restaurant is well designed, spacious to allow many people to be served at the counter without much congestion.Their prices are well marked on the menu, which is well labeled with pictures that are just as alluring as the aroma. Just as their phrase suggests, â€Å"Have it your way,† one can ask their hamburger to be made the way they want. This makes it ideal for everybody rather than having to standardize everything to suit all, which is not possible. For instance, when ordering a whopper, you can choose what to be included in it to suit your preference. This makes it a strong point for people who want a hamburger served with what they want.On the other hand, it serves as a weakness since having to order it the way you want takes a little more time and this requires patience. The tables are well set with enough space between them and decoration is just good for a fast food res taurant. This gives space for people to have their meal easily in less congestion. However, this has its weakness considering the restaurant is frequented by many customers at one time especially during lunch hour. Many people may want sitting space but due to their spaciously arranged tables, they can only provide a few with sitting space, forcing people to carry their orders, even if they may not want to.Entering at around 2. 00 P. M. , I was already receiving my order the way I wanted it in less than five minutes after direction from one of the workers in the restaurant who offered me help with my order. The restaurant is well set with counters strategically positioned to access from any table in their restaurant with ease. After receiving my order, finding a table was not easy considering it was still a few minutes from 1 o’clock when many people are on lunch break. I ordered a Whiplash Whopper that appealed to me, first from its name. I expected quite nourishment from it .The sandwich came with a whopper meat stacked in it, with spicy crispy fried onions, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, pepper and cheese. The ingredients were well balanced with the meat being standard, fresh lettuce, and the crispy onions added to the experience. The meat itself was well grilled and soft though I prefer it a little crunchy and more burnt. The other spices were on a fair balance and I could have loved a little more pepper in it as well as tomato. The hamburger was quite delicious and every single bite was an experience different from other hamburgers I have taken.Although not everything was according to my taste, most of what I look for in a hamburger was there. Going at $3. 99, it was worth the amount and most definitely, I am sure I will come again to this restaurant to try other foods. Burger King has many competitors such as McDonalds among other fast food restaurants owned by individuals. The location of the Burger King serves as the strategic point of hav ing such a facility considering the many people who want to save as much time as they can. This makes it ideal for people working around there, as it is quite convenient. This is one of its strong points but also its weak point. During the day, since there are many people working around here, it has many customers, but during the night, there are fewer customers. In conclusion, the restaurant is well above the standards and the food served is delicious and to high standards just as the restaurant itself. In the first criteria of the service delivery, the restaurant was average when it came to the sitting area. Everybody knows that fast foods are not required to have spacious, luxurious sitting spaces.Burger King can increase their table to accommodate more people. In terms of the food served, it is quality and delicious. Since it is a fast food, one expects the food to be easy to pack or take away since many people may choose to carry their food. Burger King has achieved this by cook ing their food through grilling, which ensures food does not break up when heating unlike microwave food. Finally, its locations serves them well during the day and it is at a hot point. They can only accommodate more during the day to compensate during nighttime.

The Pedestrian Symbolism

Ray Bradbury’s The Pedestrian is a very symbolic story of a man, Leonard Mead who doesn’t except the utopian society that’s supported. Leonard Mead walks outside every night to get fresh air and just enjoy a relaxing walk. He has done this for over ten years. The government provides all of society with a viewing screen, which we call TVs. The people have lost their imagination and ability to think independently because all they do is sit and watch their viewing screens. The government was very pleased with the society because crime was very low.In addition, Leonard does not have a viewing screen and choses not to live the way society wants him too. Leonard’s house is a symbol of enlightenment. His house is lit up with many luminous lights. His neighbor’s houses have a dull, dreary glow, emanating from the viewing screen. Leonard’s house is a symbol of knowledge and realization. His house being the only lit up in the society shows knowledge. L ights are bright, and bright has the meaning of being smart or knowledgeable.Leonard is aware of the negative impact the utopian society has created by keeping everyone in his or her houses. With his knowledge he keeps thinking and using his imagination to not fall into society’s trap. If a person was to see his house with the lights on, it could strike them as odd and interest them. It may make them think and wonder using their brains unlike they have been. Eventually it may enlighten them to change how they live and be independent from the government. Next, Leonard’s house is a symbol of individuality.Leonard unlike his neighbors uses his mind. Leonard’s writing and thinking is not what the society feels is normal. The citizens in the city are very boring they don’t think or have a imagination. The government is controlling all of the citizens. The people have no individuality or imagination in their thinking, acting and living. Therefore Leonardâ€℠¢s walking, writing, creativity, and thinking make him different or a individual in his society. Lastly, the society has no imagination at all. In other words, everyone is brain-dead from watching the viewing screens.Leonard continues to read and write because he likes it and he disagrees to what society is teaching. He imagines and thinks. Society and the people just watch the viewing screens. Even if the show on the screen makes a joke they don’t laugh or have any emotion. There houses being dark just with the viewing screens on and there lack of emotion is like there dead. The society is a dead place with no fun or imagination. In The Pedestrian, Leonard Mead is a individual who does not follow what the government is teaching. All of the people are dead minded and have no imagination because all they do is watch television. Leonard does not confirm to their way of life he reads and writes. His house lights are on because he is smart and has knowledge and imagination. The go vernment-controlled people have their lights off not being enlightened by what you can find in life if you think. His house is a symbol of hope that one day the people will realize the negative consequences the government has caused by encouraging and providing the viewing screens.

Solid Waste Generation

Solid waste generation is an inevitable consequence of production and consumption activities in any economy (Bennagen, M. E., 2002). Dumping of solid wastes in unauthorized places such as roadside, drains, and undeveloped piece of land leads to accumulation of solid wastes in the environment. Agricultural wastes are solid wastes that contribute to the amount of accumulated solid wastes in many parts of the world. The Philippines, which is considered as an agricultural country, contributes a large percentage of agricultural wastes in the world. The country contributes more than 10,000 tons of solid wastes per day (Bennagen, M. E., 2002).  This large amount of accumulated solid wastes contributes to problems such as flooding in urban areas, uncollected garbage, and inadequate disposal sites. The effects of accumulated solid wastes in the environment are becoming one of the major concerns of the country and worldwide. In the field of civil engineering, the effects of solid wastes on the hydration process of concrete have been investigated and the studies provided promising results (Okonkwo, 2012). Attempts have been made by various researchers to convert solid wastes to beneficial applications with high level of success in helping to reduce solid waste. Therefore, identifying analogous material from the waste products and using for beneficial application is an idea worth embracing.Eggshell is an agricultural waste that litters the environment. It is a common waste product in fast food, restaurants, and other food-related business establishments. This waste material was found out to be mainly composed of compounds of calcium. Eggshells are composed of 93.70% calcium carbonate, 4.20% organic matter, 1.30% magnesium carbonate, and 0.80% calcium phosphate (Rabiu A. and Mtallib M., 2009). Eggshell is primarily composed of calcium carbonate, which is the primary raw material in producing cement. This compound, which is naturally occurring and abundantly found in the Earth's crust, can also be found in bones, marbles, stalactites, and stalagmites. On the basis of the common compositional characteristics of cement and eggshells, heating or incineration of eggshells to produce eggshell ash and adding controlled amounts would significantly affect the properties of cement in its application to concrete.

Racism And Racial Segregation A Color Blind Society

Race in America has been a conscientious objective since the beginning of time. Individuals of different hues perpetuate the racial spoils system which vigorously rejects the Martin Luther King theory of a color blind society. Throughout history, the criterion of which racism has stemmed has evolved vastly, yet it’s probably more of an issue in today’s current events than ever before. Through researched data I was able to create a census for this so called issue with race in America. This research project will be an expository of three valid sources which perceive race in America through differential diagnosis. The dogma of race has logical consequences that are profoundly important. If blacks, for example, are equal to whites in every way, what accounts for differential success levels or other factors? Since any theory of racial differences has been outlawed, America must be racked with a pervasive and horrible understanding of the concept of race since it has a deeper literal meaning than phenotypically. Through this textual evidence I plan to educate the ignorant of the many obstacles faced that go unseen or unheard in the Black community of America. The Struggle Made by the Past Child Abuse Victims while Developing Intimate Relationships in Their Grown Years Free Essay Example, 3250 words

Child abuse and molestation include mental, emotional and physical torture, sexual exploitation, humiliating, and raping of the children. Hence, it is not confined to the rape of the children; on the contrary, passing insulting remarks, displaying of humiliating frowns and discouraging them from getting involved in healthy and positive activities.
